Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring chairside assistance is prompt and efficient. Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to maintain clinical confidentiality policies. Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records, recording vital signs, and verifying insurance information using patient management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining strict confidentiality of medical documentation and patient records. Support infection control standards through proper sterilization of dental instruments and equipment, including dental x-ray units and other clinical tools. Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and answer questions related to procedures or treatment plans. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing medical records and documentation. Certification in dental assisting, radiography (X-ray), or related fields preferred; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or oral surgery are a plus. Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control practices. Knowledge of dental equipment operation including 3D scanners, dental sterilization procedures, and medical imaging devices. Excellent communication skills for patient management and collaboration with the dental team; experience as a dental receptionist is advantageous. Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, assisting with medical imaging procedures, and handling dental instruments efficiently.
