Job Description

Under the supervision of a dentist, provide dental assisting services by assisting and charting dental exams, filing x-rays and assuring patient charts are thoroughly documented. Must be willing travel to designated work stations to fill in as a floating dental assistant when needed. Manage autoclave spore and waterline testing on dental units and remove expired inventory to meet quality assurance standards. Ensure all dental supplies are ordered and provide maintenance on dental equipment such as the autoclave, radiographic processor, curing light and dental hand pieces. Must be comfortable working with pediatric patients as well as adults.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Responsibilities Welcome and prepare customers for treatments or checkups Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed Sterilize instruments according to regulations Undertake lab tasks as instructed Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked Maintain accurate patient records
Education and Experience:
Possession of current registration as a dental assistant in the State of Tennessee with Dental Radiology Certification.
Necessary Special Qualifications:
Applicants for this class must have: 1. Valid Driver's License. Skills Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods Understanding of health & safety regulations Good computer skills Excellent communication and people skills Attention to detail Well-organized and reliable High school diploma Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA) Bilingual abilities are a plus
