Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist/Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice by managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate medical documentation. A strong understanding of dental terminology and familiarity with relevant software systems is essential for success in this role. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and ensure a positive experience from the moment they enter the office. Schedule and confirm appointments, including follow-ups and cancellations, while managing the appointment calendar efficiently. Maintain patient records, ensuring all medical documentation is accurate and compliant with HIPAA regulations. Process patient information and insurance claims using dental software systems - Eaglesoft. Assist in verifying insurance coverage and benefits for patients prior to their appointments. Handle incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information regarding services offered. Collaborate with dental staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and assist with administrative tasks as needed. Stay informed about dental terminology, procedures, and protocols to effectively communicate with patients regarding their treatment options. Qualifications Previous experience as a receptionist in a dental or medical setting is preferred. Diploma in Dental Assisting Proficiency in dental terminology and medical documentation practices is essential. Familiarity with software systems - Eaglesoft is a plus. Knowledge of medical coding principles and HIPAA regulations is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with patients and staff. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a friendly demeanor. Experience or knowledge in pediatric dentistry or prosthodontics is an advantage but not required.
