Job Summary We are seeking a fast learning and detail-oriented Endodontic Dental Assistant to join our small endo team. In this vital role, you will support endodontic procedures—commonly known as root canal treatments—by providing chair side assistance, ensuring procedural efficiency and patient comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary dental instruments, materials, and equipment for endodontic procedures, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use. Assist the dentist during root canal treatments/root end surgeries by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and maintaining a clear field of operation with aseptic technique. Take high-quality dental x-rays and CBCT scans to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning, adhering to all infection prevention protocols. Manage patient records accurately using electronic health records (EHR) systems in Dentimax Flow by documenting treatment details, vital signs, and medical history in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions about oral health, and ensuring comfort throughout treatment sessions. Follow strict infection control procedures including dental sterilization protocols and dental instrument processing to prevent cross-contamination. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments using patient management software and assisting the office manager with patient check-in and check-out processes. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and records in accordance with healthcare regulations. Requirements Experience as a Dental Assistant with a focus on endodontics or general dentistry is preferred but NOT required (we are willing to train the right person) Proficiency in dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and clinical procedures including dental x-ray techniques and oral surgery support is also recommended. Knowledge of EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with patient management software is highly desirable. Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and dental sterilization procedures. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in four-handed dentistry setups while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for patient care and collaboration with team members; ability to explain complex procedures clearly.
