The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures and terminology, along with experience in various aspects of dental assisting. This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care, ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic, and supporting the dentist during procedures. A commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment while adhering to infection control protocols is crucial. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary materials are available. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols. Intra oral scanning Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and medical documentation. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions. Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and following up on visits as needed. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information. Utilize EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient record keeping and patient management. Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures when necessary, demonstrating a friendly approach to young patients. Conduct vital signs checks as required before procedures and assist in medical imaging when necessary. Support the front desk with dental receptionist duties as needed. Qualifications 5+ years of previous experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred; familiarity with general dentistry practices is essential. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques is required. Proficiency in using dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic or Curve is a plus. Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure. Understanding of medical coding, medical records management, and documentation practices is beneficial. Experience with prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry will be considered an asset. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members alike.
