Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for patient care. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection prevention protocols. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of medical documentation. Perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient evaluations. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures tailored to pediatric dentistry or general dentistry needs. Maintain strict adherence to clinical confidentiality policies, infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and dental sterilization procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside support across various specialties like oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatrics. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment operation, and medical terminology relevant to dental practice. Experience with dental x-ray procedures, 3D scanner technology, medical imaging tools, and patient management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention and control practices including sterilization procedures and infection prevention management. Ability to accurately process dental instruments and maintain clinical cleanliness following strict infection control guidelines. Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or front desk assistant to manage patient flow efficiently while providing compassionate customer service. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance with privacy standards in handling medical records and sensitive information.
