Duties Assist dentists with a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for patient care. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including dental x-ray procedures and 3D scans, following strict safety protocols. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software. Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient care. Follow infection prevention management protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain clinical confidentiality policies and ensure patient safety. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and answer questions related to dental terminology and procedures. Support the dental reception team by managing patient flow, scheduling appointments, and handling administrative tasks related to medical documentation and records. Requirements Valid license as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with current certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS). Proven experience in dental assisting within a general dentistry. Proficiency with dental equipment including X-ray machines, sterilization tools, 3D scanners, and other clinical devices. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and medical documentation practices. Experience with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred. Ability to perform dental instrument processing efficiently while adhering to infection prevention protocols. Excellent communication skills for patient management and collaboration with the dental team. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control expertise is essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is a plus but not mandatory; a passion for providing compassionate care to children is valued.
