A Dental Assistant assists dentists in caring for patient's teeth. Helps patients get ready for treatment; prepares equipment and supplies. May perform some dental procedures under the direction of a dentist, such as fluoride application, if allowed under state regulations. Works in dental offices.

DENTAL ASSISTANT
The primary purpose of our Dental Assistantsis to anticipate the doctor's needs, provide excellent patient care, and maintain an on-time schedule while working in a clean (sterilization/disinfection) manner
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Preparing patients for dental work Consent form signatures. Helping with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up procedures in operatory rooms, preparing materials, and assisting with dental procedures Assisting dentists in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary Assisting dental hygienists with cleaning their rooms when necessary Providing exceptional patient care Recording treatment information in patient records Taking dental x-rays and caring for dental x-ray equipment Collecting and recording medical and dental histories and patient vital signs Fabricating temporary restorations and custom impressions Scheduling appointments Arrive by 7:30 for 7:45 Morning Huddle Qualifications High School, GED, diploma One to two years of dental office experience is helpful Maintain the highest level of confidentiality to HIPAA standards Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficient in using phone systems and office equipment Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures Open Dental, Dental Intelligence, Dental HQ, experience a plus Maintain a psychologically safe environment for all employees.
