Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics. Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary dental instruments, materials, and equipment while adhering to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology, ensuring accuracy and patient safety. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software while maintaining strict compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations. Perform dental instrument processing including sterilization procedures to uphold the highest standards of infection control. Provide chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort during procedures. Collect vital signs and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care and ensure clinical confidentiality policies are followed. Support the dental receptionist by managing patient flow, scheduling appointments via patient management software, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to foster understanding and compliance. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental equipment, instruments, and clinical procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with patient management software is highly preferred. Strong understanding of infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control expertise. Knowledge of dental terminology across various specialties including pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry. Ability to accurately take dental X-rays (including dental X-ray techniques) and operate medical imaging devices like 3D scanners. Excellent communication skills for effective patient care and collaboration within a team environment. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry as well as medical terminology for accurate documentation. Certification in dental assisting or relevant healthcare qualifications is preferred; ongoing professional development is encouraged.
