Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and support the smooth operation of our dental practice. In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following infection prevention management and dental sterilization procedures. Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including endodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow with four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental x-ray safety protocols and radiation exposure guidelines. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or patient management software to ensure accurate medical documentation. Perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and explain dental terminology clearly to enhance understanding. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Skills Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar patient management software. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and dental equipment operation. Experience with dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, infection control protocols, and aseptic technique. Skilled in chairside assisting with expertise in four-handed dentistry for efficiency and patient comfort. Ability to operate dental X-ray machines safely and accurately for diagnostic purposes. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working with pediatric patients to create a positive experience. Excellent patient management skills including patient care, medical records handling, and effective communication within healthcare teams.
