Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth clinical operations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, friendly environment where your skills in clinical assistance, patient management, and dental procedures will make a real difference. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists with chairside procedures, manage patient records, and uphold the highest standards of infection control and confidentiality. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a positive experience for every patient who walks through our doors. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures. Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to safety protocols and radiation safety standards. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and clinical notes. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy. Follow infection prevention management protocols including aseptic techniques, dental sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control practices. Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and assisting with reception duties when needed. Requirements Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing medical documentation and records. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, intraoral cameras (such as 3D scanners), and other clinical tools safely and effectively. Knowledge of infection control standards including dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Familiarity with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA to maintain clinical confidentiality policies at all times. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members like dental receptionists and hygienists while providing outstanding patient management. Certification in radiography (X-ray certification) preferred; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or oral surgery are a plus. $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
