Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) - Pediatric Dentistry Job Summary We are seeking a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our new, startup pediatric dental practice. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the team from the beginning and help build a warm, welcoming environment for children and their families. The ideal candidate is kind, energetic, dependable, adaptable, and genuinely loves working with children. Pediatric dental experience is preferred, but motivated dental assistants with strong clinical skills are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Assist the pediatric dentist chairside during examinations and dental procedures. Prepare and maintain clean, organized treatment rooms. Take dental radiographs according to safety protocols. Process and sterilize instruments following infection-control standards. Assist with nitrous oxide appointments according to office protocols. Accurately document patient information and treatment in the practice management system. Provide age-appropriate support and reassurance to children during dental visits. Communicate clearly and compassionately with parents and caregivers. Maintain HIPAA and patient confidentiality. Support a smooth patient flow and exceptional family experience. Participate in establishing clinical workflows and systems as the practice grows. Assist with front-office duties when needed. Qualifications Current Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) credentials as required in Virginia. Previous dental assisting experience preferred. Pediatric dental experience is a plus. Comfortable working with children of all ages. Radiography certification/credentials preferred. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Reliable, positive, and comfortable working in a startup environment. CPR/BLS certification preferred.
