Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Our mission is focused on providing value to every interaction we have. Experience is heavily recommended, and also must be willing to learn the duties of the job. We are looking for someone who has a hospitality and servant mindset and wants to help contribute to improving the lives of others, both within the team dynamic and with our patient interactions. Duties Assist the dentist during various procedures, including examinations, cleanings, and treatments such as fillings, crowns, extractions, implant placements and root canals. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed. Maintain accurate medical records/notes and patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including answering phones and checking in/out patients and collecting payments. Utilize dental technologies when applicable. Support pediatric patients by creating a comfortable environment during their visits. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow and patient satisfaction. Qualifications Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and medical records management is helpful. Familiarity with four-handed dentistry techniques is advantageous. Understanding of prosthodontics is a plus but not mandatory. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations. Certification in CPR or First Aid is required. Have a DA State License. Having an EFDA License is a plus, but not required. A positive attitude, attention to detail, good communication skills, an open mind to learning new things and the ability to work well under pressure are essential traits for success in this role.
