Our Tri-Cities practice is looking for an experienced, dependable Surgical Dental Assistant who enjoys surgery, works well in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in providing an exceptional patient experience. This is an ideal opportunity for an assistant who wants to do more than routine general dentistry. Our team focuses heavily on implant and surgical care, including full-arch treatment, and we are looking for someone who is comfortable working closely with the doctor and clinical team throughout the entire patient journey. What You'll Do Assist the doctor chairside during dental implant, full-arch, extraction, and other surgical procedures Prepare and break down surgical operatories and ensure all instruments, materials, and equipment are ready for treatment Review patient medical histories, medications, allergies, and health concerns and communicate important information to the doctor Obtain and document patient vital signs Take high-quality CBCT scans, panoramic X-rays, digital X-rays, and intraoral photographs Provide patients with clear pre-operative and post-operative instructions Help patients feel comfortable, informed, and supported before, during, and after treatment Follow proper sterile technique, infection-control procedures, OSHA standards, and HIPAA requirements Clean, sterilize, and organize instruments and surgical areas Maintain and monitor clinical supplies and inventory Anticipate the doctor's needs during procedures and help maintain an efficient clinical flow Accurately document treatment and clinical information in the patient record Assist with impressions, prosthetic procedures, denture and implant-related appointments as needed Support other members of the team when needed to keep the practice running smoothly What We're Looking For 2+ years of dental assisting experience preferred Surgical, oral surgery, or implant experience strongly preferred Experience assisting with extractions, implants, or full-arch procedures is a significant plus Comfortable working with surgical instrumentation and sterile technique Experience taking CBCT and panoramic images Understanding of dental terminology and clinical documentation Knowledge of implant dentistry, All-on-X/All-on-Four is preferred Strong organizational and multitasking skills Dependable, motivated, and able to work efficiently in a busy environment Positive attitude with a strong team-first mentality Excellent communication and patient-care skills Comfortable learning new technology and clinical systems Familiarity with Open Dental is a plus Preferred Certifications Current CPR/BLS certification Current Washington radiology qualifications/certification as required Sedation or surgical monitoring experience is a plus Why Join Smile Now Tri-Cities?
