Responsibilities Provide comprehensive dental hygiene care, including prophy, SRP, and periodontal maintenance Perform periodontal assessments, charting, and risk evaluations Take and evaluate digital dental radiographs and intraoral images Deliver clear oral hygiene and home-care education tailored to each patient Maintain strict infection control and sterilization protocols Accurately document findings and treatment in electronic dental records Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants on treatment planning Support patient comfort and anxiety management during procedures Apply fluoride, sealants, and other preventive therapies Participate in team meetings and ongoing clinical training to enhance quality of care Required Skills Dental prophylaxis and periodontal therapy Dental radiography and imaging Periodontal charting and assessment Local anesthesia administration Infection control and sterilization Electronic dental records (EHR) documentation Oral health and home-care patient education Fluoride and sealant application Nitrous oxide monitoring Use of ultrasonic scalers and hygiene instruments
