Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while maintaining strict infection prevention protocols Assess patient vital signs and medical history to ensure safe treatment planning and delivery Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and dietary recommendations for optimal dental health Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems such as Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality Conduct patient assessments, review medical records, and document treatment plans thoroughly for seamless care coordination Follow infection control procedures adhering to healthcare standards to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a sterile environment Support pediatric dentistry cases by applying specialized knowledge of pediatric dental care and engaging young patients effectively Manage dental equipment maintenance, sterilization processes, and inventory of dental supplies to ensure operational readiness Skills Proficiency with EHR systems such as Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures Experience with dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, X-ray procedures, and medical imaging Expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, demonstrating client care excellence Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality at all times Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and the ability to review medical records accurately Competence in managing dental x-ray equipment safely while ensuring radiation safety protocols are followed Understanding of EMR/EHR management processes for accurate documentation and compliance with healthcare regulations Strong attention to detail in maintaining medical records, medical coding accuracy, and documentation review processes Join our dedicated team where your skills will directly impact patients' oral health journeys!
