Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote healthy smiles. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment, ensuring accurate diagnostics while maintaining safety standards. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to empower them in maintaining their oral health. Assist with chairside procedures by preparing instruments, managing infection prevention protocols, and ensuring aseptic techniques are followed diligently. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, reviewing documentation for completeness and accuracy. Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations and infection control standards to protect patient confidentiality and prevent cross-contamination. Requirements Valid license as a Dental Hygienist in accordance with state licensing boards. Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency with EHR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dental care. Skilled in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, X-ray procedures, and handling dental equipment safely. Expertise in healthcare infection prevention and control management, including aseptic technique and infection prevention protocols. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their dental health needs. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance management and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
