Header Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient comfort. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Follow infection prevention protocols through aseptic techniques, sterilization of dental equipment, and adherence to healthcare infection control standards. Header Qualifications Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings, with a strong focus on patient care and education. Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; EMR/EHR management experience is preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dental care. Skilled in chairside assisting, dental x-ray procedures, and maintaining dental equipment. Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance, patient confidentiality, and infection control practices within a healthcare environment. Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration; ability to review documentation thoroughly.
