Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in maintaining oral health, assisting with dental procedures, and ensuring compliance with all safety and infection control standards. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review, to ensure safe treatment planning. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to pediatric dentistry needs. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Curve, Carestream or Dexis, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Follow strict infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic technique and infection control measures, to safeguard patient and staff health. Manage dental equipment maintenance and sterilization processes in accordance with healthcare infection prevention standards. Provide exceptional patient care by addressing questions, alleviating concerns, and fostering a positive experience for pediatric patients. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless workflow and optimal patient outcomes through effective communication. Experience Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification in CPR and radiography where applicable. Proven experience working within general dentistry practices, with additional experience in pediatric dentistry preferred. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental assisting procedures essential for effective patient care. Hands-on experience using EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and management of medical records. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures. Strong understanding of dental x-ray procedures, dental equipment operation, and maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA regulations. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients about dental care effectively across diverse age groups. Prior experience working in a fast-paced dental clinic environment that emphasizes meticulous documentation review and compliance standards.
