Job Description
Story City Dental (home of Iowa Sedation Dentistry) is looking for a Dental Hygienist to join our team! We pride ourselves on building strong relationships with our patients in a comfortable environment, and thus we have a loyal patient base who have placed their trust in our care over the years. Therefore, we are seeking the right person who can continue to build on that established trust and deliver excellent patient care for years to come! We look at our hygienists as leaders in preventive health and collaborators with our dentists in delivering patient centered care. We place a lot of trust in our hygienists in educating our patients about their oral health. Strong communication skills and a strong level of understanding in oral hygiene aids are a must. Dentistry is an ever-changing field so we are looking for somebody with a passion for continuous learning to stay updated on the latest developments in dentistry! Our office offers digital x-rays with Nomad/Pano/CBCT, Cavitrons and intraoral cameras in every room, hand scalers, digital scanners, and paperless charting with Open Dental. Required duties include routine prophylaxis and periodontal treatment, conducting oral health assessments, making dental radiographs, placing dental sealants/SDF/fluoride treatment, providing patient education, maintaining accurate patient records, and maintaining infection control protocols. There are several opportunities for learning and professional growth at our office. Continuing education and on-site training are provided to help you build your skillset so you and the rest of our team can continue to deliver a high standard of care.
