In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional dental care and patient education while ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for every patient. Your expertise in dental hygiene, patient assessment, and infection control will help promote optimal oral health and foster lasting patient relationships. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your skills make a real difference in people's lives. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols. Educate patients on proper dental care practices, oral hygiene techniques, and preventive strategies to improve their overall health. Assist the dentist during procedures with chairside assisting, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times. Follow infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to uphold the highest standards of safety and hygiene. Requirements Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings; experience with pediatric patients is a plus. Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and EHR management. We are using Archy (a new all-in-one dental software) Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Familiarity with dental equipment operation, X-ray procedures, and medical imaging techniques. Excellent communication skills for client interaction, patient education, and team collaboration. Ability to perform four-handed dentistry efficiently to optimize patient care and clinic productivity. Commitment to HIPAA compliance management and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Healthcare infection prevention and control expertise, including aseptic technique and infection control standards.
