In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care by performing professional dental cleanings, assessments, and education. Your expertise will help promote optimal oral health, ensure patient comfort, and uphold the highest standards of infection prevention and confidentiality. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your skills in dental hygiene, patient communication, and clinical procedures will make a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Hours are Monday-Thursday 8-4! Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history reviews, and oral examinations. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental x-ray equipment while ensuring radiation safety protocols are followed. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term oral health habits. Assist with chairside procedures such as applying fluoride treatments or sealants, supporting dentists during examinations and treatments. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring documentation review and proper coding for billing purposes. Follow strict infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment to ensure patient safety. Uphold HIPAA compliance by maintaining patient confidentiality at all times and managing medical records securely. Support general dentistry procedures with expertise in pediatric dentistry when working with young patients. Collaborate effectively within the dental team to ensure seamless patient care delivery and uphold high standards of infection control. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental clinic or healthcare setting. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and medical imaging techniques relevant to dental care. Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards. Ability to communicate clearly with patients about their dental health needs while providing compassionate care.
