Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and evaluating oral health status. Educate patients on proper dental care practices, including brushing, flossing techniques, and preventive strategies. Assist with dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Capture high-quality dental x-rays and medical imaging while adhering to infection prevention protocols. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality. Support the dental team with chairside assisting, including preparing instruments, managing dental equipment, and ensuring aseptic technique. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification. Proficiency in dental terminology, equipment operation, and infection control standards. Experience with EHR systems such as Eaglesoft is highly preferred. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and pediatric patient management is a plus. Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare infection prevention. Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, providing clear instructions and compassionate care.
