Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care by performing dental cleanings, assessments, and preventive treatments while ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for every patient. Your expertise in dental hygiene procedures, infection control, and patient education will help promote optimal oral health and support our mission to deliver high-quality dental services. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to maximize efficiency and patient comfort. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Follow strict infection control protocols utilizing aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a sterile environment. Support pediatric dentistry cases with specialized care tailored for children, including behavior management and age-specific procedures. Review documentation regularly for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory standards such as HIPAA and medical coding requirements. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless patient flow, efficient chairside assisting, and excellent patient care. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic setting. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Curve Hero is highly preferred. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Experience performing vital signs assessment, medical imaging (X-rays), and documentation review within a clinical environment. Ability to communicate clearly with patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism and empathy. Certification in dental assisting or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory; ongoing continuing education is encouraged to stay current with industry standards.
