Status:
Part-time, 8 hrs/week, 42 weeks/year
Rate of Pay:
$45.00 per hour
Position Accountabilities and Essential Functions:
The successful candidate must demonstrate experience, skills, and commitment to fostering an environment of belonging, diversity, equity and inclusion in students, faculty and staff.
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide one-on-one clinical instrumentation consultation in 3-hour increments during 4-hour clinic sessions. Communicate with students to schedule sessions when they are treating patients requiring advanced instrumentation. After each session, document the student's skill level, the patient's difficulty level, the consultation provided, and any improvements observed. Ensure each student receives equal hours of tutoring.
Required Qualifications:
Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) licensed in the State of Michigan. Significant experience treating advanced periodontitis utilizing hand instruments and ultrasonics. Proficiency in administering local anesthesia and nitrous oxide; Michigan certification in both required. Demonstrated advanced instrumentation skills meeting or exceeding competencies taught in the Delta College Dental Hygiene program.
Additional Experiences Considered:
Experience in clinical instruction or providing critical support of dental hygiene students. Familiarity with Delta College Dental Hygiene program competencies.
