Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs measurement and medical history review, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR). Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and adherence to infection prevention protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health. Maintain strict infection control standards by following aseptic techniques, sterilizing equipment, and managing infection prevention protocols in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate documentation of patient care activities and medical records. Collaborate with dentists and other team members to ensure seamless patient care delivery within general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings. Uphold patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA guidelines and maintaining the highest standards of privacy throughout all interactions. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental procedures. Proven experience working in dental office environments for at least 2 years. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their dental health needs. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining compliance with radiation safety protocols. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance management practices to ensure confidentiality of patient information at all times. Compensation 30-33% of collections OR $55-$60/hour- whichever is higher!
