Job Description

Overview Dental Hygienist Gillihan Periodontics We are seeking a compassionate and detail oriented Dental Hygienist to join our periodontal team. In this role, you will provide preventive care, educate patients on oral health, and support an exceptional patient experience. Our practice specializes in diagnosing and treating gum disease and placing dental implants. We focus on personalized care using modern techniques to support long term periodontal health. This is a great opportunity for a hygienist who enjoys working in a specialty setting and is passionate about patient education and periodontal care.
Schedule:
Full Time, 4 days a week Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings including scaling, polishing, and root planing Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) Conduct oral health assessments and chart conditions of teeth and gums Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments according to infection control protocols Assist the dentist during exams and procedures as needed Document patient care and treatment plans accurately in the dental record Monitor and maintain hygiene supplies and equipment Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other regulatory standards Please note that additional responsibilities may be assigned Qualifications Requirements Valid Dental Hygiene license in the state of practice Associate degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program Preferred Skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Gentle and compassionate chairside manner Proficiency with dental software and digital charting Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality care Familiarity with common dental procedures and patient education techniques
