Registered Dental Hygienist

• 65/hour, based on experience and qualifications SmileWell Dental is a small, privately owned dental practice in South County St.

Louis. We are looking for a registered dental hygienist who wants to be actively involved in helping patients understand and improve their oral health. Our approach to dentistry is centered around prevention, identifying disease and risk early, and understanding the connection between oral health and whole-body health. Hygiene is an important part of how we diagnose, educate, and care for our patients. This is not a position where the hygienist simply cleans teeth and waits for the doctor to come in for an exam. We want our hygienist evaluating what they see, reviewing radiographs, assessing periodontal health, educating the patient, and communicating findings with the doctor so that we can work together to determine the best next steps.

What the position includes:

Preventive and periodontal care Comprehensive periodontal charting and assessment Taking and evaluating diagnostic-quality radiographs Reviewing radiographs and clinical findings before the doctor's exam Patient education and treatment discussions Identifying caries and periodontal risk factors Intraoral photography and iTero scanning Guided biofilm therapy Salivary testing and oral microbiome evaluation Oral-systemic health education Clear clinical documentation and communication with the rest of the team We use Dentrix, Dexis, iTero, Overjet AI, intraoral cameras, digital radiography, and other technology to help us diagnose and communicate with patients. Who we are looking for We are looking for someone who is: Thorough and clinically strong Comfortable recognizing and discussing periodontal disease Interested in learning and continuing to improve Able to evaluate radiographs rather than simply take them A good communicator with patients and teammates Dependable and able to manage their schedule Comfortable receiving feedback and working together to improve systems Interested in prevention, oral-systemic health, and helping patients understand the "why" behind their treatment Experience is valuable, but years in practice are not as important to us as clinical judgment, curiosity, communication, and willingness to learn. We are a small team, and we continue to improve how we do things. We are looking for someone who wants to participate in that process rather than simply come in, see patients, and leave. Schedule We are currently considering both full-time and part-time candidates. We are willing to be flexible with the schedule for the right person. Compensation $55

• 65/hour based on experience, clinical skills, and qualifications.

Additional team bonus opportunities and continuing education are available. Missouri dental hygiene license required.
