In this vital role, you will utilize your expertise to perform comprehensive dental cleanings, patient assessments, and education while ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for every patient. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history reviews, and dental examinations to identify oral health issues. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment, ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to empower patients in maintaining their dental health. Assist the dentist during procedures through chairside assisting, including preparing instruments and managing dental equipment. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix), documenting treatment details, medical records, and medical coding with precision. Uphold infection prevention standards by implementing aseptic techniques, sterilizing instruments, and adhering to HIPAA compliance for patient confidentiality. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic environment. Familiarity with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for charting, scheduling, and record management. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles is a plus for providing care to children and adolescents. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health assessments. Experience with infection control protocols, healthcare infection prevention practices, and maintaining strict sterilization procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, explaining procedures clearly while demonstrating compassionate client communication skills. Prior exposure to general dentistry procedures including X-ray management, patient care documentation review, and medical coding is highly desirable.
