Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accurate positioning and patient safety. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their dental health journey. Assist dentists during procedures with chairside support, managing dental instruments and ensuring a smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Follow strict infection prevention protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and comply with healthcare infection control standards. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic environment. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, equipment operation, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Familiarity with EMR/EHR management systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding. Expertise in pediatric dentistry is highly desirable, along with experience providing dental care patient education to diverse age groups. Demonstrated ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while maintaining patient comfort. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures. Excellent client communication skills with a focus on building trust and ensuring patient understanding of treatment plans.
