Duties:

• Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque and tartar, and applying fluoride treatments
• Take and develop dental x-rays
• Conduct oral cancer screenings
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for at-home care
• Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed
• Assist the dentist during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials
• Maintain accurate patient records and update medical documentation as necessary
• Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure a safe and sterile environment

Skills:

• Proficient in recording patient information accurately
• Strong knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology
• Experience using Epic or similar electronic health record systems
• Ability to maintain aseptic technique during procedures to prevent cross-contamination
• Skilled in conducting patient assessments to identify oral health issues and develop appropriate treatment plans
• Thorough understanding of infection control protocols to minimize the risk of transmission of infectious diseases
• Excellent medical documentation skills to ensure accurate recording of patient information and treatment details
