Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Assist the dentist during procedures through chairside support, including handing instruments and managing dental equipment. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) by documenting treatment details, medical information, and patient interactions in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Follow infection prevention protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment and prevent cross-contamination. Manage dental supplies and equipment maintenance to ensure operational efficiency within the practice. Uphold patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA guidelines and safeguarding sensitive medical records. Collaborate effectively with team members using dental terminology and electronic documentation review for seamless patient care. Qualifications Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings is preferred. Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health. Skilled in chairside assisting, including handling dental equipment and performing X-ray procedures safely. Familiarity with infection control practices, healthcare infection prevention, aseptic technique, and medical coding standards. Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration within a fast-paced environment. Ability to perform patient assessments accurately while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care.
