Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral health evaluations. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring proper technique and safety protocols. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance patient understanding and compliance. Assist the dentist during procedures with chairside support, including handling dental equipment and ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for accurate documentation of patient information, treatment plans, and medical records. Adhere strictly to infection prevention management protocols, including sterilization of instruments and maintaining a clean clinical environment in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures. Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and medical coding. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques. Demonstrated expertise in infection control practices, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention standards. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their dental care needs. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal patient comfort.
