Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and dental examinations to ensure optimal care. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including documentation review and updates within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures aligned with healthcare standards such as HIPAA compliance. Skills Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding to ensure precise communication and recordkeeping. Expertise in pediatric dentistry practices to effectively care for young patients in a compassionate manner. Excellent client communication skills to explain procedures clearly and foster trust with diverse patient populations. Ability to perform patient care tasks including patient assessment, vital signs measurement, and medical imaging with precision. Familiarity with dental equipment operation, X-ray safety protocols, and electronic health records (EHR) management.
