Plymouth Meeting Family Dental seeks a caring Dental Hygienist to provide comprehensive preventive and periodontal care in our patient-centered family practice. Responsibilities include exams, cleanings, periodontal therapy, radiographs, oral cancer screenings, and individualized patient education. You'll review medical histories, support treatment planning, and ensure strict infection control. Responsibilities Provide preventive dental hygiene care including prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, and scaling and root planing Perform comprehensive periodontal charting, caries risk assessments, and oral cancer screenings Take, process, and accurately document digital radiographs and intraoral images Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, home care, and preventive treatment options Review medical histories, update records, and communicate patient needs to the dentist Collaborate with the dentist on treatment planning and coordinate follow-up care Maintain infection control and sterilization protocols in compliance with OSHA and CDC guidelines Document all treatment thoroughly in the practice management system Support a calm, comfortable patient experience, including anxious patients and children Participate in team meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives Required Skills Dental prophylaxis and periodontal maintenance Scaling and root planing (SRP) Digital dental radiography Periodontal charting and assessment Local anesthesia administration (where permitted) Infection control and sterilization (OSHA/CDC) Electronic dental record documentation Patient oral hygiene instruction and education Fluoride and sealant application Instrumentation and ergonomics
