In this energetic role, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on maintaining optimal oral health, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Your expertise will help foster a welcoming environment where patients feel confident and cared for at every visit. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and adherence to infection prevention protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health. Assist with chairside procedures in a four-handed dentistry setup, supporting dentists during various treatments. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR/EHR systems while ensuring HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality. Manage infection control procedures by following aseptic techniques, sterilizing equipment, and adhering to healthcare infection prevention standards. Skills Proficiency in dental software such as Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and medical coding. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation. Experience with pediatric dentistry practices, including working with pediatric patients in a compassionate manner. Skilled in patient care, patient assessment, and client communication to foster trust and understanding. Expertise in infection prevention management, healthcare infection control practices, and maintaining sterile environments. Ability to interpret dental x-rays (X-ray) accurately and utilize medical imaging for diagnosis support. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations for managing electronic health records (EHR) and ensuring compliance across all documentation processes.
