This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting. We are looking to add a part- time hygienist to our team, for 2-3 days a week! Our clinical hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm, Wednesday 7:30-3:30pm, and Friday 8:00am-1:00pm. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Take and evaluate vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to monitor patient health status. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and patient comfort. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Prepare and review medical records, ensuring accurate documentation of treatment plans, procedures, and patient histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, current medications, and dental concerns to inform treatment planning. Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Support pediatric dentistry cases by providing specialized care tailored to children's needs in a friendly manner. Assist with medical imaging procedures such as X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with dental terminology standards and medical coding requirements. Skills Proficiency with dental software systems for scheduling, records management, and billing. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Experience in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry environments with a focus on patient care excellence. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various dental procedures. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques used in dentistry including X-rays. Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security. Excellent communication skills for educating patients about oral health and treatment options. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and documentation review processes.
