Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care while promoting optimal oral health. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will utilize your expertise to provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on maintaining healthy smiles, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and the importance of regular dental visits. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in Open Dental Adhere strictly to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations to protect patient safety and confidentiality. Skills Proficiency with Open Dental software for scheduling, documentation review, and medical coding. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices. Experience in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining a caring attitude toward patients of all ages. Competence in taking vital signs, medical imaging, and assessing patient needs for general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards and managing medical records securely.
