- Conduct dental cleanings
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices
- Collaborate with dentist diagnosis and treatment recommendations
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Maintain patient records accurately
- Sterilize dental instruments and equipment Skills
- 3 plus years of dental hygienist experience
- Proficient in aseptic technique; Certification in local anesthesia.
- Current unrestricted dental Virginia Dental Hygiene license
- BLS certification
- Associates or bachelor's degree in dental hygiene from CODA-accredited program
- Familiarity with Eagelsoft or similar electronic health record systems
- Bilingual in English and Spanish both spoken and written
- Thorough knowledge of dental hygiene principles, practices and procedures
- Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA regulations
- Competency in medical imaging techniques
- Previous experience in a dental clinic setting preferred; experience in safety net environment a plus
