Responsibilities Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque, tartar, and stains effectively. Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Dentrix. Follow infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to ensure patient safety. Requirements Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency in dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and medical terminology. Strong knowledge of infection prevention practices, HIPAA compliance, and maintaining patient confidentiality. Experience with EHR/EHR systems such as Dentrix for documentation review and medical records management. Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while adhering to radiation safety standards. Excellent client communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care and education.
