Responsibilities may include:

Providing comprehensive dental hygiene care Performing prophylaxis and periodontal maintenance Scaling and root planing as appropriate Taking dental X-rays as permitted Reviewing patient medical and dental histories Performing periodontal assessments and charting Educating patients on oral health and home-care techniques Identifying areas of concern and communicating findings with the dentist Maintaining accurate clinical documentation Following all infection-control and sterilization standards Helping create a warm, comfortable, and professional patient experience
