Duties Greet patients warmly, manage appointment scheduling, and coordinate patient flow using patient management software. Assist with clinical procedures by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing dental instruments, and ensuring infection prevention protocols are followed according to clinical confidentiality policies. Operate electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and medical histories. Support dental professionals during procedures through chairside assisting, including handing instruments, managing dental equipment, and maintaining aseptic technique. Take and develop dental x-rays using dental x-ray equipment and 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient communication by answering phone calls, confirming appointments, and providing pre- and post-treatment instructions related to general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties. Ensure all dental sterilization procedures are meticulously followed to maintain a sterile environment in accordance with infection control standards. Monitor vital signs when necessary and assist in medical documentation for patients requiring medical imaging or other health assessments. Qualifications Previous experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, dental instruments, equipment, and procedures such as X-ray techniques and infection prevention management. Proficiency with dental practice management software like Dentrix experience with EMR systems is a plus. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies to ensure patient privacy at all times. Ability to perform chairside assisting tasks including four-handed dentistry techniques and oral surgery support. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and pediatrics is advantageous. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in medical records management and medical documentation. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
