Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical procedures, excellent patient management skills, and a thorough understanding of dental practices. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during procedures, ensure the smooth operation of the clinic, and uphold the highest standards of infection control and patient care. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various dental procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all materials are ready for patient appointments. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to safety protocols and radiation guidelines. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Process dental instruments according to sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies. Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation as needed for pediatric or medically compromised patients. Skills Proficiency in dental software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or other patient management systems. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures including dental x-ray techniques. Experience with dental equipment operation and maintenance, including 3D scanners when applicable. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention standards. Ability to perform dental instrument processing and sterilization efficiently while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, staff, and healthcare providers. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and general dentistry procedures is highly desirable.
