Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review, dental examinations, and diagnosis using dental terminology and medical imaging techniques. Perform a wide range of procedures such as dental restorations, root canal therapy, dental extractions, prosthodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, and implant placements. Utilize advanced practice management software like Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix to document treatment plans and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations. Apply aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety during all procedures. Communicate effectively with patients to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and post-treatment care; foster a welcoming environment for pediatric dentistry and client communication. Collaborate with dental assistants in four-handed dentistry to optimize workflow efficiency during procedures such as dental fabrication and endodontics. Stay current with industry best practices by participating in ongoing education related to medical diagnosis, dental terminology, and emerging technologies like dental implants and oral surgery. Experience Proven experience in general dentistry within a busy dental clinic or office setting, demonstrating proficiency in clinical procedures including dental extractions, root canals, prosthodontics, orthodontics, and implant placement. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate documentation of medical records and treatment plans. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to oral surgery, endodontics, pediatric dentistry, and infection control standards. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and healthcare diagnosis protocols to ensure patient confidentiality and compliance. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to assess patient needs thoroughly while providing compassionate care. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques alongside dental assistants. Prior experience with medical imaging technology and dental fabrication processes is highly desirable.
