Duties Perform thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental history reviews, oral examinations, and diagnostic imaging using medical imaging technology. Diagnose dental conditions accurately through detailed analysis of dental terminology, radiographs, and clinical findings. Deliver a wide array of general dentistry procedures such as dental cleanings, restorations, root canal therapy, dental extractions, prosthodontics (crowns, bridges), orthodontics, and oral surgery. Conduct pediatric dentistry procedures with special care for young patients' comfort and safety. Utilize electronic health record systems like Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix to document patient interactions precisely while maintaining HIPAA compliance and adhering to state healthcare regulations. Implement infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment during all procedures. Communicate effectively with patients to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and post-treatment care instructions in a clear and compassionate manner. Collaborate with team members on treatment planning and coordinate dental fabrication processes for prosthetics or implants. Maintain accurate medical documentation and medical records while ensuring compliance with all legal requirements. Stay current with advancements in general dentistry practices by participating in ongoing education related to endodontics, orthodontics, implantology (dental implants), and other specialties as needed. Skills Proficiency in dental office software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes. Strong knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology relevant to dentistry and healthcare diagnosis. Expertise in performing dental diagnosis using clinical skills combined with diagnostic tools; familiarity with medical imaging techniques is a plus. Excellent client communication skills to foster trust and ensure patient understanding of procedures and care plans. Ability to perform complex dental procedures including root canal therapy, dental extractions, oral surgery, prosthodontics (crowns & bridges), orthodontics (braces), pediatric dentistry techniques, and implant placement. Experience practicing in a busy dental clinic environment with a focus on patient care excellence. Knowledge of infection control standards and aseptic techniques aligned with healthcare regulations. Ability to work efficiently in four-handed dentistry setups alongside hygienists or assistants for optimal patient outcomes.
