Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental examinations and assessments tailored to pediatric patients, utilizing appropriate medical imaging and diagnostic tools. Develop individualized treatment plans that address the unique needs of children, including preventive care, restorative procedures, and orthodontic interventions. Conduct dental procedures such as dental extractions, root canal therapy, placement of dental implants, and oral surgery with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques. Utilize advanced dental software systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for accurate medical documentation and record keeping in compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations. Educate young patients and their families on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive measures, and treatment options through clear client communication. Maintain strict infection control protocols and ensure the sterilization of all dental instruments in accordance with healthcare standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesiology professionals for sedation procedures when necessary, ensuring patient safety at all times. Stay current with developments in pediatric dentistry, including innovations in dental fabrication, orthodontics, endodontics, and prosthodontics to enhance patient care quality. Requirements Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution with specialization or certification in Pediatric Dentistry. Valid state dental license with certification in pediatric dentistry preferred. Proven experience working within a dental clinic or healthcare setting specializing in pediatrics; familiarity with dental office software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology related to pediatrics and anesthesiology, as well as anatomy relevant to oral health. Expertise in general dentistry procedures including dental extractions, endodontics (root canal therapy), orthodontics, oral surgery, and implant placement. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with children and their families while demonstrating empathy and professionalism. Knowledge of infection control practices, HIPAA compliance standards, and state healthcare regulations governing pediatric dentistry practice. Ability to perform detailed medical documentation and maintain accurate medical records throughout treatment processes.
