Strong probability of extension Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Dentist to provide comprehensive dental care to individuals residing in a Supported Living Center, as well as certain individuals receiving services in community-based settings. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality, safe, and patient-centered dental services, including advanced dental care and treatment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive dental services, including: Comprehensive dental examinations Limited and emergency examinations Restorative procedures Simple extractions Crown preparations Denture cases Complete oral rehabilitation in collaboration with an anesthesia provider Develop appropriate treatment plans designed to improve and maintain patients' oral health. Prepare written treatment plans with clinical justification for irreversible dental procedures. Complete timely and accurate documentation of all clinical encounters using electronic medical and dental records. Provide dental care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities while utilizing appropriate clinical judgment and safe treatment practices. Collaborate effectively with dental, medical, nursing, anesthesia, and other healthcare professionals. Utilize digital dentistry technology and electronic health record systems. Maintain organized and accurate patient records. Communicate treatment plans and other clinical information clearly and professionally. Work effectively with minimal supervision while maintaining a strong team-oriented approach. Qualifications & Requirements Current, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of Texas . Current, unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration . Active National Provider Identifier (NPI) . Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification , which must remain active throughout the assignment. Proficiency with computers and electronic health and dental record systems. Experience with digital dentistry. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
