Department Dental and Imaging Technology Position Type Faculty Employment Status Adjunct Salary Adjunct Stipend Open Date 11/12/2025 Close Date Open Until Filled No Position Summary Information Job Description Summary The purpose of this position is to teach and/or assist in assigned dental assisting courses, labs, and clinic sites and maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
• Associate's degree if instructing a lab or clinical. • Bachelor's degree if instructing a didactic course. Three (3) years of clinical experience in the field using four-handed dentistry skills. Current license as a Registered Dental Assistant ( RDA ) through the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners ( TSBDE ). Current credential as a Certified Dental Assistant ( CDA ) through the Dental Assisting National Board ( DANB ). Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation ( CPR ) / Basic Life Support ( BLS ) for the Healthcare Provider certification. Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Ability to teach and communicate with students of varied multicultural backgrounds. Knowledge of and commitment to teaching strategies and methods which enhance student success. Knowledge of a learning college and/or knowledge of learning communities. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching at the secondary or college level. Experience teaching college level online courses and/or documented successful training in a college online learning management system (e.g. Blackboard, Canvas).
