Mon-Fri 4/10hr shifts Overview The White River Junction Veterans Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled General Dentist to provide comprehensive dental care to our veteran patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general dentistry, with experience in both clinical procedures and patient management. The position requires proficiency in various dental software systems and adherence to strict healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and infection control protocols. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental examinations and assessments using advanced diagnostic tools and medical imaging techniques. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, including preventive care, restorative procedures, and oral surgery as needed. Conduct dental procedures such as dental extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, and endodontic treatments with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques. Utilize dental fabrication skills for crowns, bridges, and other prosthetic devices. Maintain accurate medical documentation and manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral health practices, treatment options, and post-procedure care to promote overall wellness. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care, including pediatrics when necessary. Stay current with advancements in dental technology and procedures by participating in ongoing professional development. Experience Proven experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare setting with a focus on general dentistry. Proficiency with dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and medical records management. Hands-on experience performing pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics (including root canal therapy), prosthodontics, and other specialized procedures. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and medical imaging techniques relevant to dental practice. Familiarity with dental fabrication processes and four-handed dentistry techniques is preferred. Prior experience working within a VA or federal healthcare environment is advantageous but not required.
