In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring that residents receive nutritious and appealing meals in our assisted living or nursing home facility. You will work closely with the culinary team to support food preparation and service, while adhering to food safety standards and dietary guidelines. Duties Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to established menus and dietary requirements. Ensure that all food safety protocols are followed during food handling, preparation, and storage. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces. Help with inventory management by monitoring food supplies and reporting shortages to the kitchen manager. Collaborate with nursing staff to understand residents' dietary needs and preferences. Provide excellent customer service to residents during meal service, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Participate in training sessions related to food safety, dietary guidelines, and kitchen operations. Requirements Previous experience in food service or as a dietary aide is preferred but not required. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to follow instructions accurately and maintain attention to detail. Willingness to learn about dietary needs specific to assisted living or nursing home environments. A passion for culinary arts and providing quality care through nutrition.
